Course Contents

This course is designed to give an insight into the safe handling of small boats, seamanship, tides and the weather.

Boat Handling is one of the most popular courses for divers. At DJL we conduct boat handling training using our own twin engine 6 metre rib (capable of up to 35 knots!).

The duration of this course is 2 days. This comprehensive training will provide you with the skills and knowledge to safely handle a small boat.

All our BSAC courses are closely monitored by BSAC National Instructor Les Skelton. Les has been teaching BSAC for over 15 years, and his key values are safety and quality training. Les ensures that all our BSAC Skill Development Courses meet a very high standard, conducting the vast majority of SDCs himself.

After attending this course the trainee Cox'n must log a further 5 - hour small boat handling. Cox'n who have gained this log experience can the apply for the Diver Cox'n assessment.
